What to expect
As part of the first consultation, I will send you a comprehensive questionnaire for you to complete prior to coming to clinic. When you arrive at the clinic, we will discuss your responses in detail so I can fully understand the issues you are experiencing. In addition to discussing your medical history and symptoms, I use Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) diagnostic techniques like pulse and tongue readings to gain deeper insights into your overall well-being.
By combining the information from pulse and tongue readings with your health concerns and history, I will design a tailored treatment programme. This holistic approach is designed to reduce any pain you may be experiencing and address any underlying issues to ultimately restore balance in your body, mind, and spirit. If you are uncomfortable with any aspect of the assessment, you can just tell me.
Following your assessment, you will be required to lay on the treatment couch where treatment will begin. Acupuncture is the insertion of very thin needles into strategic points on the body. There is very little pain but you may feel a strange sensation which means the treatment is working.
As part of your treatment, I may combine a range of techniques to provide you with the best outcome. There is no extra charge for these adjunct therapies which can include manual acupuncture, electroacupuncture, ear acupuncture, guasha, cupping therapy, ear seeds, asp ear needles and infrared light therapy.
Healing is a two-way process and during your consultation you will be encouraged to ask questions and share your concerns. A strong partnership between us is crucial for your healing journey.
